Viva Las Vegas

(Las Vegas) The Las Vegas Market at World Market Center took place September 14th through the 17th  and market organizers pronounced their first-ever September furniture market a success, saying there was "a significant uptick" in registrations among buyers and designers.

Showrooms and the temporary exhibits seemed busy, although some exhibitors observed that the traffic patterns were somewhat uneven or even a bit slow. However, the mood in the marketplace overall was very upbeat, with vendors generally pleased with the business that they were doing. Helping to kickoff the Market and get things going to a jump-jiving start was a lively concert by the Brian Setzer Orchestra, which rocked the house with its “Stray Cat Strut” and other favorite tunes.

Bob Maricich, CEO of the World Market Center, said he was "exceptionally pleased" with the show. "We exceeded expectations in terms of attendance. It also appears that the venue exceeded expectations in terms of order writing and without question, we exceeded all expectations for optimism. In an environment that other trade shows and markets are reporting significant double-digit declines, the results from this market were truly outstanding," he said
