(Los Angeles) On Saturday, May 9th Coaster employees joined the fight against women's cancers by participating in the 16th Annual Entertainment Industry Foundation Revlon Run/Walk For Women. The event, included a 5k walk/run, Health Expo, and celebration concert in and around the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum at Exposition Park. 57 Coaster employees and family joined over 55,000 other people to raise awareness and critical funds for women's cancers research, counseling and outreach programs. The event kicked off with a health expo starting at 7:00am followed by a celebrity filled opening ceremonies with Christina Applegate, Miley Cyrus, Tish Cyrus, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Jordana Brewster all making an appearance. The race/walk began at 9:00am, and the day concluded with a special concert by Michael Boulton This was the sixth year Coaster raced for the cure, and the number of Coaster employees participating was larger than ever. Some employees brought their entire families to celebrate mother's day and help in the fight against cancer. It is estimated that one in seven American women will develop breast cancer at some point in her life. This year, more than 182,400 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, more than 21,600 will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and more than 56,000 will be diagnosed with other women's cancers. More than 68,900 will lose their lives to these deadly diseases. Behind each of these statistics is the face of a woman who needs your help -- a mother, a wife, a sister, your friend.
