Employee Awards

Congratulations to Nicole Poorman, Maynor Hernandez, and Luis Marquina on receiving employee of the year awards in Coaster Chicago. These awards are not handed out for perfection, but for hard work, dedication, and customer service.

Nicole received the Office employee of the Year for putting her heart & soul into her job every single day, all day long. Over the past year, she has really transformed into a wonderful caring customer service rep, a supportive team player, and the sales reps really appreciate how she handles their accounts.   Customers call and request her by name, sometimes only wanting to speak to her! Nicole always follows up with customer shipments, back-orders, informs them of sales, and handles their credits and replacement in a very timely manner. Without being asked, she is willing and able to help out her co-workers. Whenever someone needs assistance she helps with putting in orders, explaining policies to their customers, helping with freight quotes, or giving driving directions to the branch. Nicole is especially appreciated when, at the last minute, for one reason or another, Coaster Chicago needs to have a CSR at will-call by 7AM in the morning.   I can always call Nicole Poorman at 6AM and ask her if she can be to work by 7AM. And she always replies “I am on my way”.   

Maynor was recognized as the Warehouse employee of the year because of his unrivaled work ethic and ability to work well with his co-workers. Whenever he is asked or assigned other duties outside of assembly he never hesitates to perform such duties with enthusiasm and confidence. Maynor can always be counted on to get the job done and once he completes his work, he ensures that there is no additional task to be done before returning to his work area. He is truly a great example to all.

Luis Marquina was honored with the Branch Manager employee of the year award for his dedication and willingness to fill in wherever he is needed. Luis joined Coaster as a janitor and since has worked in Assembly, Will Call, and recently has been promoted to a reach truck driver. Whenever he is asked Luis is always willing to come in early or stay late, and never leaves for the day without making sure that all of the day’s orders have been completed. Luis’s flexibility and ability to learn quickly has proved to be invaluable to the branch.
